Vol XVI – #346 – It Ain’t Over Till It’s Over

The wind out of the west was so strong this morning that the wind surfers thought twice about going out.  Off and on whiteouts ruled the day.   A free 2017 Leland Report Calendar is now shipping with all book orders!  http://www.artistasylum.com/book/h7b12a9f3#h7b12a9f3

Vol XVI – #345 – Gone is the Wind Along With a Few Trees

I tried to take a picture of Van’s Beach from this same spot yesterday and the wind was just  much, had to retreat.  The cherry and grape growers are hopeful this weather will stabilize.  Warm ups are nice but can put crops in jeopardy.   A free 2017 Leland Report Calendar is now shipping with all book orders!  http://www.artistasylum.com/book/h7b12a9f3#h7b12a9f3

Late afternoon light in today’s photos, piercing through the clouds around the harbor.     A free 2017 Leland Report Calendar is now shipping with all book orders!  http://www.artistasylum.com/book/h7b12a9f3#h7b12a9f3

The morning began with a strong wind out of the Southwest  and cloudy sky.  Mid-morning the sky turned blue and the wind subsided.  Then the blue returned to gray, good by to a beautiful day. Vol XVI – #340 – Saturday Sunshine, But No Berging

The Weather Channel recently featured a Leland Report video of the 2007 berging on the Carp River. I don’t know what year the first trip down the river occurred, I do have pictures from recent years.  Today would have been a perfect day to go berging , but a warm spell a couple of weeks ago decreased the thickness if the ice and… Read more »

Vol XVI – #339 – Nothing Ventured… Nothing Gained

And nothing was.  I believe it’s important to support your local towing service.  This isn’t the first time Van’s has towed me out of deep snow, hopefully it’s the last.
