Bergging-06-14

The Weather Channel recently featured a Leland Report video of the 2007 berging on the Carp River. I don’t know what year the first trip down the river occurred, I do have pictures from recent years.  Today would have been a perfect day to go berging , but a warm spell a couple of weeks ago decreased the thickness if the ice and increased open water at the mouth of the river.  Winter 2017 provided some good days for ice boating and ice fishing, but maybe next year for berging.

Bummer….all of us down south always looked forward to the “berging” pictures every late winter! Maybe that is seen as good news up north……signs of a mild winter!!
