Snowing down here now. Maybe it’s snowing up there too? If the snowfall forecast contest isn’t done, maybe I still have a crack at it. You’d need to get a foot and a half or so, though.

Late to the party, I’m wondering if fundraising for the dredging is ongoing. Is there a not-for-profit to which contributions can be sent?

Dick, the fundraising is over, the dredge is being delivered. If you want to donate additional funds, I’m sure Kate Vilter would not turn it down. You might still be able to donate at https://fundly.com/dig-deep-for-leland-harbor But Contact Kate through that site first. She has to pay them a percentage. She would probably prefer a check.

I made an earlier comment which might easily be explained. If the photo of the ferry and the river plus Fishtown had been taken in the early morning, say 10 PM, all of my confusion could possibly be eliminated. As usual: All the best.

I like to think that I know my directions 360 %? of the time. Today I am lost! The Island ferry in the river has a setting sun more or less above it. My head says that this means the sun is moving to sunset in the NORTH which, of course, has not been he case for a million years or so. I always assumed that the Leland river (?) flowed out of Lake Leelenau directly west, which would mean that sunset at this time of year would be just a tad north of west of the river’s mouth.
