Hall’s Shanty below as it looked this morning and the pen &ink as it looked in 1973.  I finished the pen & ink at 5:00 p.m. on March 17th, 1973, my 40th birthday. I had spent the whole day in my studio (furnace room) and returning upstairs found a birthday party in progress along with friends and neighbors.  This was one of the first of my many Leland drawings.
