A most unusual day, never really sure if it's going to be sunny or a downpour. The showers aren't occasional or scattered... they're intermittent. It's was a good thing leaving the safari top on the Jeep as we got rained on twice between blue sky and puffy white clouds. Biscuit and I didn't make the Bridge Walk at noon... because. If anyone has a good picture of the walkers crossing the bridge... send to lelandreport@chartermi.net and you will receive credits. There is a high wind weather alert until 10 am tomorrow and I'm sure the folks on the islands are happy about that.

	From Anne on Robinsons Bay on 9/6/2010 "...Amphicar was manufactured in Berlin, Germany from 1962 to 1967. Approx 4500 were produced. Most went to the USA (at least 3700.) There are maybe 500 still in regular use ..." (from the Amphicar site.) I've always wanted one. So did my dad, but all he knew before his death in 1952 were the DUKW's a la those at the Wisconsin Dells. We used to have three of these Amphicar beauties here in Leelanau County, I think. One in good repair goes for about $100,000 today.
	From Easydoesit on 9/6/2010 Thanks for the information, Anne - they must be fun to ride in. As for today's weather - Mother Nature rules! After a fantastic summer she still has some tricks up her sleeve. It was really a lousy holiday weekend. But I'm sure there's lots of good weather ahead before we start counting snow fall.
