The Leland Report has been a little unsettled lately do to not having enough hours in the day.  I even forgot to wish my wife a Happy Birthday on yesterday's post.  Anyway, Biscuit and I made a visit to see Charlotte in Fishtown at the Tack & Jibe.  You can visit Peter and Charlotte at www.tackandjibe.com

Business is good in Leland, and businesses are flocking to the village.  Leland boasts nine new businesses this season.  Fishtown, main street, river street, and south main, all have new businesses.

“Leland is full”, reports Leland Chamber of Commerce president Rick Lahmann.  “We only lost three businesses, and we gained nine.”  “Leland has roughly 50 retail locations, and they are all full.”  New stores include Tack & Jibe and Sporck Tile Art in Fishtown, Epiphany on the south end, and Roxane II, At The Lake, Fishtown Sail Co., Leelanau Outdoor Galore, Momentum and Lasting Impressions Antiques in the central business district.

We celebrated mom's birthday all weekend - with a dinner at North, a brunch at the Riverside Inn, fireworks (viewed from a boat on the lake) and a parade... Thanks for having us! We had a great time!

What a wonderful photo of the girl fishing. I wish we could zoom in on the pictures. Wonderful news about the increase in businesses ! I hope to see them in September.

I just love this pic. "Family Bonding" To Tryna, on my computer, bottom right, just above the time, I can increase the size.

Thanks Judie, I found it using a different web browser !!

Thanks, Judie. Didn't know I could do that on my computer. Never really paid attention to that "100%" in the corner.

Holding down the "Ctrl" button and then pushing the plus or minus button usually changed the size of the image and is quicker than finding the reading glasses.

I'm delighted to know that I share my birthday with Joanne Burnham! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!! My Dad always said I was his late firecracker and I'm happy that the spark is still glowing - just a tad dimmer these days!
