Dark skies and treat of storms began our day. The forecast for thunderstorms didn’t deter this group and the races continued. Congratulations to the winners. Actually they are all winners. In the upper right of the above picture are a group from Canada Below, Sam Hearn and his son received the Submariner Award.

The day began with a mostly cloudy sky that really was the highlight of the morning picture taking. I was very lucky to get the morning pictures as the battery died after about 7 takes. I probably should check the gage every once in awhile.

With the exception of a brief sprinkle, Leland was blessed with some sunshine for the Wildflower Sale. Lots of visitors in town, parking hard to find. Below in front of the Dam Candy Store are my granddaughters Lauren and Shea. What kind of a day is it?… A nice one.

The Leland Yacht Club held a memorial Sunfish Regatta dedicated to the memory of Past Commodore Jim Fenton. Jim was known for his love of racing his Sunfish and dedication to his years as LYC Commodore. Present along with family members were Past Commodores Norb Gits, Bill Bolinger, Ted Sichler, Keith Burnham, Mary Jo Grogan, John Stanley and Laura Paine.
