Biscuit and I decided to check out the Little Red Schoolhouse and found it to be in excellent condition, especially with it’s new coat of paint. Just beyond, around the bend the destruction began. Trees were flattened on both sides of the road. The power was still out in the Glen Lake Area at noon, 9&10 News reported 9,000 people involved in the outage. There was very little tree damage between Leland and the schoolhouse.
A beautiful day here in the Leelanau.
.
I love the school house and also the farm in the second pic, I have stopped to get close ups of the farm buildings, they have such wonderful textures. Thanks for sharing!
I’m happy to see that the little red school house escaped storm damage. I always enjoyed seeing it when I used to drive around the Leland area.
The tranquil areas of our county belie nature’s devastating effects in many areas. A special shout-out to my fellow 911 dispatchers and all the first responders and utility crews that have all been working very hard to restore some normalcy to our region. Please have patience. We are all working very hard for each and every one of you.,
May I add my thanks for all the folks who have done an astounding job of clearing trees and getting power back as quickly as possible. I am not in the area but as a Homestead owner, I’ve watched the progress this week with amazement. All the responders have done a superb job, and the response of folks in Glen Arbor to help visitors, friends and neighbors will surely be remembered for years to come.
