Happy Memorial Day! Today we gratefully remember those who served, and deeply honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Leland town is hopping with activity. Across the Manitou Passage, North Manitou Island was also a beautiful place to be. Lilacs there are in full bloom. In the hours before the Manitou Island Transit arrived, the green space near the ranger station turned into a regular park with lots of activity, including several backpackers’ hammocks temporarily stretched between the trees.
