That’s exactly how I interpret it. Be careful Leland, you’re not the only tourist attraction on the Big Lake. My cash works equally in lots of other places without these restrictions.
This is what happens when a few people do not respect private property. Burning home owners’ items for fires on private land will cause the owners to want to protect their private property. It has nothing to do with Leland. You still have access to Lake MI at these road ends.

I am very confused how an access path can be closed to the public, is it now private?
Access to the beach is not being closed off, just the designation that it was a “public beach”. Technically, there is only an easement to allow access to the water for boaters. People can still walk the beach, but the owners along the shore are trying to end the all afternoon sit downs and are complaining of garbage and the beach fires and vandalism. Link to Record Eagle article is now in the main post.

I was there all summer, every day, and there were virtually no problems. Very rarely were actual homeowners even on their dunes, much less on the beach. I never saw any complaints from home owners and nobody ever went on the dunes/grass. The only litter I saw was from… Read more »

Re; Closing the beach. I thought it was public a certain number of feet from the High water mark. Please explain.
Sounds to me like this will be decided in the courts because you can restrict the parking just not the access. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riparian_water_rights
Wait! What?
