As I headed back down to Illinois, I took a chance on some two-track trails I passed by on past trips up M22 near Esch Rd Beach. Leland Report Jeep #2 meandered slowly through the old pine plantations and eventually past Deer and Bass lakes. I’m definitely going back in the Summer and Fall in Jeep #1. Â
The sky was not very interesting, but I stopped in at Frankfort Light to see if there were any waves. I saw enough to go back with sopping wet feet.
In Arcadia, I stopped by and saw the Janice Sue, still in Drydock in the harbor there.
I finished my trip through Michigan downstate at my best friend Dr. Steve Bachmeyer’s house feasting on a tenderloin of Bison and some good craft beer.Â

Wonderful photos with many associated memories. The Lake can be generate fearsome waves at times, and the trails are waiting to be explored again and again. Thanks for the great photos, Jim.
