Vol XXIV – #4 – Heading down to the Lights

Report #7085 Photo: LR-1-23-24

Morning sunrise glow at Leland Harbor

When I head back to Illinois and have a bit of time to spend on the way down, I’ll take M22 through Glen Arbor, Empire, and Frankfort to stop by the lighthouses on the way. When shooting the pine plantation, I had to hike through 4′ snowdrifts. At Point Betsie, I met another photographer who attempted to hike along the front of the lighthouse but had to turn back because it was completely coated with ice. Even with YakTrax, it was hazardous. The latest weather has created some spectacular scenes. Too many to show all at once. Tomorrow, I’ll show the Frankfort and Manistee images.
