(Report by Jim)
My morning swim/bath was interrupted by the sky show above me. Both directions were worthy of a photo, which is rare because I rarely shoot into the sun.
The Leland Report’s Islands 17 is rigged and ready to sail after some maintenance work. The mast is bent after a minor failure and crash onto the deck, but it looks to be stable. I don’t think I will try to straighten it out and risk making it weaker.
On different note, the Leland Report has always prided itself in staying above the fray politically. The nastiness that results in political discussions have no place on this site where we like to show everyone the beauty of the area. With that said, we actually are human and we have a social conscious! If I do post a quote with a photo (which I do on our Instagram page with a copy the Facebook), and you interpret it as a veiled political statement because of local events, that’s your interpretation. Maybe it is political, maybe it isn’t political, maybe it’s actually a call for social change, but it will remain vague. Asking us “what is your point?” and to “just keep it Leland” is a chip on your shoulder we would much rather photograph than knock off. Thank you.
Love the rudder ( hope that’s the right term) and the editorial. Love anything you post !! Miss being up there this year.
