(Report by Jim)
Lots of places visited on Friday so I didn’t have time to post on the same day! I am heading back to Illinois on Saturday. Always fun being able to share this with you all every month.
First off, we had a great “breakfast for lunch” at Fig’s in Lake Leelanau, thank you, Brian! Up on Eagle Hwy, I had a rare treat of a very illuminated S. Fox Island. If you look at it, you would swear it was N. Manitou, but with the magnifying effect of the atmosphere, S. Fox appears larger when it’s so bright out with a dense atmosphere.
From there, I headed south to my other favorite spot for heavy waves and ice sculptures, Pt. Betsie. It was quite a big difference from a month ago when there was no ice at all.
It was sometimes hard to keep my lens dry with the waves crashing over the breakwall.
When the waves broke onshore and hit the driftwood, it was creating these icicles. Caught in mid-drip.
This is Crystal Lake in Beulah/Benzonia. My first time visiting that area.

I could spend all day looking at these pictures. Thank you so much for sharing.
Beautiful!!
Great photos…..Point Betsie is a favorite of mine over the summers. Fun to see it in winter! Thanks.
You do have a way with your camera, phone or drone!
Beautiful pictures..Thanks for the tour😀😀
Beautiful shots, Jim ! I don’t see S. Fox though.
It’s the shot above (Report by Jim)
I can’t see the S Fox lighthouse.
It’s 22+ miles away and it’s kind of hazy. I would have to be zoomed in quite a bit to see it.
Bier gallery South of Charlevoix gives you a great view. of South Fox
