After overnight winds 35 to 40 mph… a nice sunrise. The temperature soared into upper 50’s. A nice day.
A lone kite surfer enjoyed the fading sunlight and an end-of-season splash through the waves rolling in to Van’s Beach on Sunday. A magnificent early October. A whisper of northern lights showed very early on Saturday morning. The Big Dipper hangs in the sky above Whaleback in the top photo. Today is a beautiful, mild day.
Great cloud formations the morning after. Woke up to the sound of the generator. Large tree fell across power and cable lines around 3:30 a.m. two miles north of Leland. All restored around 10 a.m. Check out the Leland Harbor Dredging Time-lapse in the Projects page!
