A very nice morning, quiet and calm at Van’s Beach. Surveyors determining the lake level, taking advantage of the flatness. Beautiful Fall color muted a bit by the light overcast. Fishtown is closing down with the exception of Reflections, Leif’s Tile Shop and Carlson’s Fish Shanty.

It’s grayer and cloudier today than it was yesterday, when I joined the many people out cruising M-22, taking in the richness of fall color. Today was probably the best day for color touring with the weather forecasting clouds and rain this week. Blue sky with puffy white clouds showcased the peak colors. Another factor, the leaves are falling fast with some trees already barren. Our journey today took us to Empire by way of Glen arbor and back home on roads we have never travels… Read more »

A few sprinkles left over from the overnight rain greeted the sunrise. Small pockets of blue provided an occasional splash of sunshine. It was an mostly cloudy and breezy day. Fishtown and Greater Downtown Leland were crowded with Fall Frenzy people.

Clear and crisp this morning at sunrise, cold but not too cold. Today was a color touring day, unfortunately rain is predicted for tomorrow.

A beautiful beginning to a colorful day. The color is at peak along the shoreline but not as brilliant as in past years. This weekend should be good for touring but for the rain predicted for Saturday.

Dense dark clouds at sunrise moving in from the southwest produced a few drops of rain in Leland as thunder sounded north. Temperatures in the mid sixties were welcomed as the rain moved out of the area to the northeast. Not a bad at all.

Not as nice as yesterday, but not the worst. Another one of those “little bit of everything” days with some raindrops in the AM, sunshine at noon and overcast to mostly cloudy later. Leelanau County is reaching peak color this weekend with temperatures in the mid fifties, sunshine Thursday thru Saturday. Possible showers Saturday PM.

A perfect fall day, complete with wind blowing leaves every which way, and not too cold. It started out with a pre-dawn line-up of Venus, Jupiter, and Mars. Another everything you can think of day with dark drizzly clouds at sunrise with an occasional snowflake. The dark clouds moved slowly to the east with puffy whites moving in with a background of blue. Early afternoon we toured the Lime Lake, Maple City area looking for color and found a few nice spots, but the peak is still a week away.
