The end of August and it’s not as busy, as it is in many states, school is about begin. The girls at Carlson’s Fish Shanty are headed back to college and Biscuit is going to miss them. Parking places are easy to find. Can Fall be far behind?
The day began bright and cheery after an overnight rain. Behind the tug is a 92 ft. cruiser out of Florida. I had hoped to take a better picture of it, but it left the harbor before I returned at noon. A beautiful day in our neighborhood.

I love seeing our wildlife along the way and especially when they safely make their way across our roads. Everyone seems to drive at a minimum, the speed limit. One of the hidden gems in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is Tucker Lake. It’s a quiet place to paddle (no motors allowed), listen to the birds, see an occasional eagle or loon, and admire the numerous lilies. I’m also sharing a favorite of the Joy from this week.
Another perfect day for Fishtown. Biscuit met a new friend to play with this coming week.
