Water was glass on the North end of Lake Leelanau this morning, so I took out the kayak for a few miles. That was my workout for the day because the wind picked up and I was battling it the whole way back. Also, nothing makes a sailing trip as satisfying as having to make minor repairs to a boat to make it seaworthy. But it helps to have weathered sailors like Matt Hearne with easy access to nuts and bolts and friends with said boat and an open invitation to sail it. Sometimes you have to earn your keep.
