Vol XIX – #128 – There ARE Other Places Beside Fishtown

(Report by Jim) I see so many shots of Fishtown that I know it has most of the love. I personally have an affinity for it, but I thought today I would show a little love for East Leland, Omena, and Northport. Some more jewels on the peninsula.

Vol XIX – #124 – Sunday Birthday

(Report by Jim) Water was glass on the North end of Lake Leelanau this morning, so I took out the kayak for a few miles. That was my workout for the day because the wind picked up and I was battling it the whole way back. Also, nothing makes a sailing trip as satisfying as having to make minor repairs… Read more »

Vol XIX – #97 – Critters

(Report by John) Today we bring you critters encountered during a morning on the Leelanau peninsula. I took a bike ride from Burnham Wood up to the Grand Traverse Lighthouse and encountered deer on E Woolsey Lake Road, Sandhill Cranes at the Woolsey Memorial Airport, and upon my return a monarch caterpillar having a feast on the milkweed in Mom’s… Read more »

Vol XIX – #96 – Lions and Lizards and Shanties oh my!

(Report by Jim) Town is crowded if you didn’t notice (if you are here and didn’t notice, then you didn’t leave the house). Vol XIX – #94 – Sunsets and Paddling on the North End

(Report by Jim) Lots of fun photos from yesterday and today. The rain and clouds of yesterday cleared out and left a clear blue sky and it got warmer. I was stuck still in my 65-degree weather gear at 9:30p when the sun went down. The show wasn’t near the sun, though. I was pointed South (below). Today I retrieved… Read more »

Vol XIX – #93 – Tuesday Early Rain

(Report by Jim) Between rain showers today, I took the drone up over my friend’s property on the north end of Lake Leelanau. It’s nice knowing people here like the Marshalls that have always appreciated being outdoors. People who have a house to stay in, but still would stay in a tent or a camper on the lake. I got… Read more »

Vol XVIII – #344 – Aerials Revisited

(Report by Jim) More shots from drone day on the North side. I’m in the process of getting my commercial certification, which will open up possibilities to do paid work. There are so many possibilities to take amazing photos with drones, but I will not fly them in state or national parks without permission, or fly it around people. There… Read more »
