Setting a trap net on the Manitou Passage
Sunday morning on the Manitou Passage out of Leland: quite a few boats took advantage of the excellent conditions for fishing. Here’s a glimpse of trap net setting, which requires two boats. The smaller skiff pulls the anchors out into position. After taking a few pictures, I set the camera aside and rolled up my sleeves, fully participating as crew. The fishermen will return each week to lift the net for whitefish.
