Vol XV #230 – Making Waves

Today wasn’t the best day to take pictures.  With wind and rain, it wasn’t very pleasant.  Going down to the beach the wind sounds like a train roaring through.   All in all it could have been worse, not as bad as the weather people predicted.

Vol XV #229 – Rain, Wind Go Away

The gale warning flags are flying in anticipation of strong coastal winds for Leelanau County and South along the lakeshore. Yesterday the forecast was for gusts up o 60 mph, today, maybe 40 or so. Vol XV #228 – Not Forgotten

The Leland Report salutes our veterans, especially those who are no longer with us.  Walter, born on this day in 1918 was a close friend and mentor.  The General and I shared some stories together that I will always cherish.  Gone, but not forgotten.

Vol XV #225 – Sunday Whatever

Vol XV #221 – Nice Day to Work in the Yard

Another summertime day, unfortunately Fishtown is closing some shops for the season’s end.  This great weather is supposed to last until tomorrow and Fall retuns.

Vol XV #213 – Cool, Quiet and Calm

A very nice morning, quiet and calm at Van’s Beach.  Surveyors determining the lake level, taking advantage of the flatness.  Beautiful Fall color muted a bit by the light overcast.  Fishtown is closing down with the exception of Reflections, Leif’s Tile Shop and Carlson’s Fish Shanty.

Vol XV #207 – Rain, Rain, Go Away!… and it Did

Dense dark clouds at sunrise moving in from the southwest produced a few drops of rain in Leland as thunder sounded north.  Temperatures in the mid sixties were welcomed as the rain moved out of the area to the northeast.  Not a bad at all.
