Another sunshiny day and forty degrees. It doesn’t take long for Big Blues ice cover to disappear.

Blue skies today, though it was a mere 18 degrees at sun-up. Today’s photographs are from Saturday, when JP and I went to Empire and watched as icebergs drifted by with the current, far out in the lake beyond the shoreline ice. The early morning greeted us with a very light and fine snowfall which continued on through noon. Made it down to South Beach, didn’t know if I was going to make it back, but I did. . .

Spent the day in the Big City By the Bay and returned home in time for a nice sunset. . .
A nice sunny day to tour the countryside along Eagle Highway and Gills Pier Road . .
The sun was shining and I drove over to East Leland to photograph the shanties on the north end of the lake. As I arrived, the sky clouded over and it began to snow. I returned to the west side and the sky turned blue again. . .
I want to wish my son James Burnham a Happy 50th Birthday. It has been so far, a real Winter this year, not the snowiest or coldest, just day after day Winter.
