Ice Balls Good Harbor-0063-TLR

Ice balls dot the shore looking towards Whaleback from Good Harbor Bay.

A wintry weekend, to be sure! Wind, waves, lake effect snow… and (my first encounter with) ice balls. I headed to the water’s edge in time to catch Sunday’s sunset, if the sun would peek through. A faint ribbon of pink emerged for a few moments. This photo shoot involved getting covered with snow while lying on the beach, and getting splashed when I got a little too close. Curiosity will do that.

A thought for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: “Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.” – MLK

The first shot looks like a close up of some sort of wooly caterpillar.
