The Leelanau is a perfect place to fully embrace each of the four seasons. We are in the middle of a bonanza of oranges, yellows, and reds: this morning, raindrops and sunbeams intensified the colors. Today’s photographs are from within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. By sunrise yesterday, I was deep in the park, hiking through morning fog, enjoying an unusual bit of solitude at a popular destination (Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive). As I stood at the top of the dune a buck ran uphill straight toward me. He only stopped when I raised my camera. In an instant he was running, faster, in the other direction, and I was reflecting on a magnificent moment.

It is so breathtaking, I don’t know how any one up there gets any work done this time of year.

Meggen, you sure know how to depict the mood of your locations!

The Biscuit report looks like a double exposure.
