Had a difficult time getting the Leland Report posted today. Outside of that it was a very nice day, what else can I say.
A cool and breezy morning turning into another beautiful Leelanau day, perfect for the Artist’s Market and also for Fishtown visitors. Below, I watched this surfer try to ride one in for at least 20 minutes or more without success, so I left.
Our pictures show a nice day happening, it was at the time, but it didn’t stay that way for very long. Heavy rain began to fall before noon and golf ball sized hail began to cause havoc in parts of the county. The sheriff said the hail dented all of his cruisers and he wasn’t very happy about it. Fog was on the move at get up and get goin time. Stopped by 2 Jays for a view of the harbor at noon and took a picture of the harbor fog. Not clear as to how nice a day it was.
Last evening a bunch of us old-timers gathered together to remember those we grew up with, partied with and competed with. Don and Marilyn Pendergast were hosts for so many of our exploits at Penwood located at the mouth of the Carp River. Times have changed, Penwood has changed
A great day for a parade! It’s also a great day to celebrate our nation’s independence and consider all that we have to be grateful for.
A great day to go for a boat ride. A beautiful blue sky with occasional puffy white clouds make it a picture perfect day.

If it wasn’t for the coolness of the morning, you could believe you were in Hawaii looking out at the surf. Sweatshirt weather, never the less a beautiful first day of July. A challenging day for sailors on Big Blue. Sunny, mid 70’s with possible weather system moving through on Thursday which means a great 4th of July celebration.
