My dad, Bill Steel, died last night, peacefully, at home at age 100. In the last number of months speech was harder for him to generate but singing was still a strength. During the Christmas season we sang Christmas songs but after the holiday season we switched to the Leelanau Song. We’d belt it out with him trying to do harmony to my off key voice. Even as he weakened he would join me for the last line. He loved Leland with all his heart. I can just see him sailing into a Michigan sunset.
A little snow down here as well. Started out on a walk, suddenly snow covered walking fast body! 🙂 Great Pics Mr. B!
