20200305 194908(Report by Jim)

Today is our first Blast From the Past featuring the Leelanau Enterprise from the early part of the 20th century. Today is 6/4/1925. There was an entire page dedicated to the benefits of the “electrification” of farms. The Leland baseball team exacted revenge on Northport 7-3 with Nedow and C. Carlson in “good form”. Stander Motor Co. could put you in a new Chevrolet, an X-Ray negative was sent over wire in only 7 minutes, and E.L. Van Zee could fix your auto curtains while your car was laid up!Ā  Not only that, but the new Riverside Inn got a chimney, Tracey Grosvenor started delivering mail to North Manitou and the harbor got an extension! I’d say that was quite a summer.

I am glad that Mrs. Hoeft made it back to Traverse City safely.

I liked the part about “fireplaces.” Somethings never change.
