(Report by Jim)
Dusted off the kayak and took an evening trip down the Lake Michigan shore behind Whaleback. The wind was calm and the water was almost glass. I’ve kayaked up the shore, but this is the first time down the shore. With the water so high, boat is the only way around, or you wade. While I was down there rock hunting, a hiker came way down the hill from the top. When he got down to the shore he saw me and said “This is the first time I’ve ever run into someone else down here!”. I told him I was taking the easy way back.

This rock was almost a perfect cube!

With the wind blowing, it looks like my hair is cut
Thank you. Can’t tell you how much your photos are enjoyed! Beautiful water, stones, beach and sky. Happy Summer Solstice!
When I was a teenager in Leland, I’d often walk through the Indiana Woods after school, slide down the sand cliffs south of town and then walk back to town on the beach. Many years of that delight!
Beautiful! Thank you!
So beautiful Jim! Amazing pix for those of us still at home. Thank you!
Absolutely GREAT pics! That trip would be fun!
Love the underwater rock pics..looked like a nice trip!!!
How I miss being up north. Thanks for giving me a taste.
You definitely have inherited your father’s ‘eye’ for capturing a great ‘shot’. Love the long views, love the rock n’water close ups. Great job – thank you.
