The sun finally came out and stayed out all day. I needed a 16″ water supply hose today and the only place open was in Traverse City, so I headed south, stopping by some scenic views along the way. I headed first to the Lake Leelanau Narrows bridge, then to get the hose, then up to where the Schooner Manitou is docked, DeYoung Natural Area and finally Leland Harbor. With DeYoung, I crossed another hike off my list. It’s a small Leelanau Conservancy area between the Leelanau Trail and Cedar Lake on Cherry Bend Rd/633. It’s an easy 2 mile loop through the forest with a nice view of Cedar Lake. Tomorrow, either Platte Plains Trail south of Empire, which I’ve only been around with the Jeep on the off-road trails, or knock three off (Shauger, Windy Moraine, and Bay View Trail).
Thanks to everyone who has supported our project throughout the years. We all know how special and “one-of-a-kind” this area is and we have enjoyed bringing out that uniqueness in our images. Love to you all! -Keith and Jim
