Somewhere There’s Sunshine” was here awhile ago but just didn’t hang around for long.  43 degrees and a little sun melts snow.  The problem with melting is eventually it freezes and my pathway to the garage is ice.  My problem with this El Nino Winter is age related and deals with mobility.  I can navigate on solid ground but not on slippery slopes.  I manage using a cane which also needs solid footing.  But, enough of my problems, the fact is this winter is a really a nice winter, great for outdoor activities, like snow shoveling, roof raking… Just kidding.  I love winter and can’t wait for next winter because I know it’s going to be more fun then this winter.

So sorry for the slippery slopes, thanks for the lovely Leland pictures Mr. B!

To avoid the danger of icy slopes and streets, check out LL Beans’s “Stabilicers” which are basically slip-on studded tires to go over your boots or shoes (they seem to run smallish). Other places make them but these the ones I bought recently

I’m amazed at the total lack of ice along Big Blue’s shoreline.
