(Report by Jim)

Beautiful morning clouds on Lake Leelanau against the haze coming from the western forest fires. My sister Mary is coming to Leland from Oregon, which has been suffering from the fires along with California and Washington State. In the afternoon I finally got to paddle Victoria Creek (Cedar River) from Cedar to lower Lake Leelanau. Quite a few Blue Herons along the route, helping us find our way along the meandering stream. One caught a fish right in front of us!

It’s so peaceful. Wish I could be there to get away from all this bad news and just enjoy the nature. Sigh.
