EXCELLENT PHOTOS. I often wondered why the sun and full moon were so large at rising and setting. Many years ago I attended a lecture by a U. of Michigan astronomer. Someone raised that question with the observation that at so low an elevation, refraction by the atmosphere doubtless was the cause. Not so said Herr Professor. He went on to say that a complex interaction of human eyesight and the brain causes the false observation.
