Sometimes, if you wait for it, the sunset becomes spectacular for a moment as the light ducks between the clouds and water. The red-breasted merganser and the gull were hanging out in Leland harbor yesterday.

Looks like a herring gull. I notice that they’re coming back, after being grossly outnumbered by ring-billed gulls for 20 years or so. Great job on the photos!
