A beautiful day, but it didn’t start that way. Rain at dawn and a few flakes in the air on the way to town. They forecasted sunny and sunny it was around noon. It looked good, but it didn’t feel good.
It’s a foggy day here, really foggy. Drove to town in a cloud with a car coming toward me with no headlights, I didn’t hit it. By noon the sun tried to burn through and it turned out to be a nice day.
It’s a rainy day here. As I pulled in to the parking lot by the harbor this morning, an otter scampered by on land near the Manitou Isle. A few minutes went by and it emerged beneath the dock. Enjoy the rain – it promises spring flowers!
Cloudy skies at get-up, a rather depressing looking morning. In general our winter sky is cloudy or overcast and lake effect something. Woke up to the forecasted 1 to 2 inches of overnight snow as well as an overcast sky. The early morning still had a few flakes in the air. Still a little nippy, but a blue sky and puffy white clouds make that nippy feel not bad at all. This is especially true when the wind is one mile per hour out of the southwest. It was obvious this morning that today was going to be a great one. The sky was the messenger and indeed it is a great day. Looking back to 2003 on this date it was -19 degrees, 2009 it was -4 degrees and 159 total inches of snow, in 2012 17 inches of heavy wet snow fell and the next three days… Read more »
Leap day is here! Do something fun today. We awoke to another 2″ of wet, heavy snow. The “warm” temps of yesterday dropped below freezing, with wind out of a northerly direction. No snow at get-up time, just a lot of wind gusting to over 30. We live downhill to the western breezes and hear the roar but don’t feel the full force of it as it goes high over our heads.
