A lot of parking spaces available in town this afternoon. Gale force winds make outdoor activities not much fun unless you’re surfing or kite boarding. Color is developing rapidly in the areas with a lot of maples. This coming weekend should be nice to color tour.
Today was as middle of summer as you could get. A top down day with parking spaces at a premium. Lots of folks in Fishtown. The early morning sun was crisp and clear with a bluer than blue sky. In fact the sun was blinding, shadows rule. The early morning visitors posing with Biscuit are from Singapore. Clouds moved in in the early afternoon along with a lot of people.
A brisk wind out of the Northwest was just right for about 10 surfers just after sunrise. I waited for near 15 minutes for someone to ride a wave and decided to leave. Fair skies ruled the early morning dawn and as the sun began to rise, the clouds started to move in. The result being a sunrise with a great ball of fire. Around noon, drizzle and then rain began to fall. What kind of day was it?… An October day.
The leaves should be turning soon and maybe by next weekend the leaf peepers will have something to peep at. Below, the museum is showing progress with it’s new addition.
The day began in Fishtown before the clouds moved out and the sun returned, the only sounds were the chug of the tug. Fishtown is a special place in the early morning. The only shops open are the Cheese Shanty and Carlson’s Fish.
In spite of the clouds over paradise, there was a lot of picture takers in Fishtown this early afternoon. I was taking pictures of people taking pictures of people taking pictures. Our family gathered together to say farewell to Jack and Therese Larson who were laid to rest together today after a long separation, may they rest in peace.
On a clear day you can see forever. It’s a time when you don’t have to explain why you call Big Blue… Big Blue. And of course… a breath of fresh air. Actually, we get a lot of fresh air here, but on a day like today, it’s really fresh and really clear and you can see forever.
