Vol XVIII – #121 – Leelanau Summinars

(Report by Jim) Thanks to Frank Mead and his Leelanau Summinars program for allowing my Dad and I to present some of our favorite photographs from the Leland Report at the Leland Library. We had a lot of fun talking on a bunch of our favorite photo subjects! I created the first Leelanau Summinars website and never thought I would… Read more »

Today is a day about a lot of things, among them, kids, fish and strawberries. A perfect day to tour the county, a beautiful day to visit Fishtown and Kovarik’s strawberry farm.

Sunset cruise in an amphibious car, Sunday evening after the Sunday Night Community Sing at the Leland Country Club. Huge smiles all around – on board the car-boat as well as on the dock.

We put the boat in for the first time in a couple years and though the photo is pretty blah, I was in a boat on Lake Leelanau, so it wasn’t all that bad. Not until it started raining, of course! But I was safe with my Coast Guard approved signal orange life… Read more »

(Report by Jim) Unseasonably cold! 49 degrees at sunrise and no more than 55 all day. But, it was sunny and busy with Leelanau County Vets filling up the charters and having a fish fry at the dock. The Coast Guard was doing some maintenance on the green navigation light and the Survey Vessel Steelhead here doing fish population assessments…. Read more »
