The Leland Yacht Club held a memorial Sunfish Regatta dedicated to the memory of Past Commodore Jim Fenton. Jim was known for his love of racing his Sunfish and dedication to his years as LYC Commodore. Present along with family members were Past Commodores Norb Gits, Bill Bolinger, Ted Sichler, Keith Burnham, Mary Jo Grogan, John Stanley and Laura Paine.

Joanne and I joined with our Leland neighbors to congratulate Major General Brian Bishop and his wife Linda on his retirement from the United States Air Force and welcoming them back home. Also Happy 78th Birthday to my wife Joanne, love ya. Life is good!
A wonderful 4th of July in Leland Town.
Bumper to bumper, elbow to elbow, it was that kind of a day in Leland. Oh and later in the afternoon, the Thunderbirds, wing to wing. They came over my head so fast I couldn’t take a picture. It was a wonderful day.
On June 22nd one of our favorite Leland couples celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Bill and Mim have been Leland summer residents since 1947, when they rented the house behind Van’s Garage before moving in 1950 to their present home on north Lake Leelanau at the end of Grand Avenue.
