Vol XVI # 026 – Rain Is Here For a Couple Of Days

The absence of wind in the early morning coolness was appreciated.  Shortly after noon, rain began and Fishtown was vacant except for customers of the Cheese & Fish Shanties.  Light rain falling is a good reason for not being there.

Vol XVI # 025 – Saturday in Leland

Another nice beginning to a late April day, but on the cool side.  Not a ripple on Carp River, providing a mirror image of the Library and Museum.  South Beach was host to the Saturday Rockers.  The afternoon became clouded over and rain is promised for tomorrow.

Vol XVI # 024 – Friday

The wind this ,morning was frigid on the hands taking pictures.  Thirty Seven degrees in January and February is great, but in April it’s frigid.  I watched the surfers trying to catch a wave, but it wasn’t happening, so I left. The sky returned to blue at noon.

Vol XVI # 023 – AM Rain, PM Fog

This mornings rain was welcomed by most if not all, the afternoons fog a surprise.  The gull below was dive bombing after a fish. I had hoped to catch him with a catch, but it was not to be.  To be sure there is always beauty to be found on rainy/foggy days.

Vol XVI # 022 – Clouding Over, Rain Tomorrow… Maybe

The transition from fair skies to cloudy was very visual.  Looking north at blue sky with wispy white clouds and looking south at dark and dense.  The above picture shows you what was in between.

Vol XVI # 021 – A Land of Delight Kinda Day

After a couple of warm wake-ups, this am’s chilly air wasn’t the best, but that’s one of the problems with this time of year, you get a couple of Summer days and then it’s back to Spring. The wispy white clouds and the color of Big Blue highlighted this days beauty. We have exited from a relatively easy Winter and are enjoying how 2016… Read more »

Vol XVI # 020 – Meggen’s Monday

On Sunday afternoon, Joel Petersen took the Joy out for the first time since its compete overhaul, and said he was more than satisfied with how it handles now with the higher rails and resulting added weight in the stern. We are looking forward to the season’s whitefish catch… especially since spring has arrived, and with it, eagerness to… Read more »

Vol XVI # 019 – On A Day Like Today You Can…

On a day like today you could do anything you wanted to do.  It was summertime in Leelanau County.   Bicycles and motorcycles shared the roadways.  There was a group sunning in chairs on South Beach mid-morning.  It was a day to clean the garage.
