Vol XVIII – #158 – Meggen’s Monday

This weekend was a great time to take advantage of being outside. Especially if you find an unoccupied bench in the national park, and spend a few minutes taking in the view and the crisp, not-so-humid-anymore air. This bench is up the Bayview Trail, either from the trailhead on Thoreson Road, or from the new grassy Heritage Trail parking… Read more »

Vol XVIII – #157 – Sandhill Cranes, Sand and Hills

(Report by Jim) This is my last report for the month. I have been taking US31 and M22 up and down to/from Illinois for the last couple months because I have missed so much coming up 131 over the years.  On the way down, I took Thoreson Rd, which if you drive up from Glen Arbor, it’s that… Read more »

Vol XVIII – #119 – A Perfect Fishtown Day

Today is one of those days that the clouds rule the sky.   (Jim) I took a break today and drove over to Fudgie Beach to catch a Cumulus forming over Lake Leelanau. I heard this storm produced heavy rains and lightning in Traverse City. This is all we got, shame. 😉

Vol XVII – #203 – 75 Degrees, Partly Cloudy and Elbow to Elbow

Continuing with our October Summer, Fishtown is in overflow mode with visitors lined up at the Cove as well as the Cheese Shanty for lunch. Falling Water’s is up to capacity and the Fishtown Shanties are occupied.  Rain and cooler temperatures forecasted for Sunday evening.
