The morning started out much like yesterday with clouds and wind. The weather hasn’t kept visitors away from Fishtown and for that matter the rest of Leland. Unfortunate for those who have rented space for the week, it’s been a bad weather one. The forecast is for warming up and partly cloudy the next 5 days.

A beautiful Sunday morning in Leland, especially if you caught the Big One on The Cutter Too. The rest of the catch was pretty special also. It’s been a great season for the sports fisherman this year.

Anyone who was paying attention saw a great cloud show that carried over into Fishtown. Lunch at Happy Hour and a trip down to roaring brook caps off a pre-barbecruise-day afternoon

One of the rewards of doing the LR is meeting people like this group of fisherladies returning from a successful trip out on Big Blue. Biscuit enjoyed a boat ride with my granddaughters Shae and Lauren on a beautiful Leland day.

On June 22nd one of our favorite Leland couples celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Bill and Mim have been Leland summer residents since 1947, when they rented the house behind Van’s Garage before moving in 1950 to their present home on north Lake Leelanau at the end of Grand Avenue. Bill and Mim Steel spent their last summer here in… Read more »
