Vol XV #283 – It Could Be A Nice Day I’d Say

This afternoon we will be in the Big City By the Bay, so the Leland Report is being posted early.  Back in 2001 when I started the LR, it was usually was posted in the am as it was a good morning email to my family.  Hard to believe that 15 years will have passed since March 30 2001.  I have been interviewed… Read more »

Vol XV #282 – Meggen’s Monday

It was one of those instances of glancing back over my shoulder after having photographed the waves breaking near the old Life Saving Station in the park. Vol XV #277 – The Day Before the Last Day of the Year

I couldn’t make it to my usual destination, South Fishtown, because of the depth of snow… so I ventured over to South Beach.  I walked in the footprints of previous visitors.  That’s probably the way I will travel on foot for the rest of the winter, walking in other peoples footprints. Our family members are arriving… Click here to enter the 2016 Snow Gauge contest! Win a custom Leif Spork tile!

Vol XV #219 – Meggen’s Monday

Sunrise, sunset… a canopy of fall clouds makes a light-catching backdrop both just after sunset last night and just before (an earlier/more normal-feeling) sunrise this morning. Those who were driving anywhere just after 7 am were treated to an array of pinks.

Vol XV #149 – Meggen’s Monday

Sunrise this morning as seen from North Manitou Island. Strong winds and serious waves made the return trip an adventurous one.   To all subscribers: You may have noticed new advertisements on the left side column. Vol XV #128 – Meggen’s Monday!

The calm that follows a severe storm is a welcome thing – the hush that accompanies the startled look around. Much work lies ahead in cleaning up around the area. Thanks to everyone who responded in any way possible – re-routing traffic, cutting up trees, protecting downed power lines, and helping those that were stranded.
