Vol XVIII – #323 – Meggen’s Monday

There is something enormously satisfying in driving an hour on a partly cloudy day, to witness a spectacular sunset. The two photos above are from last night at Point Betsie (by Frankfort). While it wasn’t terribly windy, I was startled by the wind chill (and so was my camera). To see the ice-covered shrubs turn orange-pink as the sun slipped… Read more »

See you in February. We still have calendars… Read more »

The surf on the West side was nill, but on the East side it was predictably rough, these being taken just north of Northport. The ice below was at Leelanau State Park. Appropriately, we went and saw Aquaman tonight at the IMAX in Traverse… Read more »

Vol XVIII – #265 – Sand Sledding

(Report by Jim) There was sun today! Didn’t see it? I almost didn’t, either! I went down to Sleeping Bear Dunes to see if anyone was sledding, found a few post-christmas sledders and some blue sky. It didn’t last long, however, but it was enough.

Vol XVIII – #264 – Christmas Day

(Report by Jim) Christmas Evening. Sunset views from two locations, South Beach (above by me) and the Clay Cliffs (below by John). Cold out there, but you stay as long as it takes to get the shot. Merry Christmas!

Vol XVIII – #263 – Christmas Eve

“Heap on more wood!–the wind is chill  But let it whistle as it will,  We’ll keep our Christmas merry still.”  -Sir Walter Scott Merry Christmas from our families to yours!
