Vol XXI – #29 – Starry Morning

I woke up early this morning not intending to take photos outside, but I stepped out on the deck and looked up and couldn’t help it. Clouds and stars are a irresistible combination. Later, I checked the webcam on Manitou Island Transit and saw another irresistible combination, Lake Michigan, clouds and sunset, with some surfers thrown in for good measure…. Read more »

Vol XXI – #27 – More of the Same

Happy Labor Day!. I missed the Leland Bridge Walk this morning, too many things to get fixed at the house (a little labor on Labor Day), so I am leading with a shot of the Mackinac Bridge, which I stopped to see at 11:30pm on Saturday night as I drove the UP route from Wisconsin. The second shot is the… Read more »

Vol XXI – #23 – Good Harbor Hike

Always interesting running into people on Good Harbor beach. And we didn’t actually accidentally run into them. We just couldn’t avoid this cute little Aussie puppy when she ran up to us. John and Pam from Glen Arbor stopped us from running away with Giselle. 🙂 After posing with the puppy, we headed up the beach and onto the forest… Read more »

Vol XXI – #22 – Happy 4th of July

Above are photos from 4th of Julys past. The top is one Christy Edwards captured as Keith was walking up and down the parade route in 2015. The one above was taken by Keith the same day. A lot has changed in a year. No parade or fireworks this year, but things look good for next year. Biscuit the statue… Read more »

Biscuit will be down… Read more »

We have had the privilege of knowing him and Nikki and their son Eric (below, middle) and his brother Lee and sister Taya as well as the many cousins for over 50 years. We’ve all shared and loved… Read more »

Vol XXI – #19 – Out on the Red Jacket

A rare opportunity presented itself yesterday when our own Meggen’s father David Watt asked if I wanted a ride on the Red Jacket, a trawler he brought down from the U.P. I’m not going to pass up that opportunity! What a fantastic ride up the North shore to Onominee Beach and back. Calm seas and a beautiful sunset to end… Read more »

Vol XXI – #18 – Weather is Good for the Art Shanty

What a difference a day makes. Cloudy and cold yesterday opened up to sunny and a bit warmer today. Water is still nice enough to take a dip in the morning. The Harbor is also back in action. This is Erin Ledyard’s last day in Fishtown in the Art Shanty today so be sure to visit to see her fabulous… Read more »

Vol XXI – #17 – Sunset in the Harbor

Our picture perfect day yesterday turned into a picture perfect sunset. I joined a bunch of people gathered along the North Beach shoreline to enjoy the show. Jim will be in Fishtown in the Art Shanty (under Haystacks in the old Leland Gal spot) from 6/29-7/5 with canvas, metal, and framed prints and puzzles and these cool little acrylic blocks….
