Vol XVIII – #124 – Meggen’s Monday

How’s the fishing? That’s what a lot of people ask Joel Petersen, captain of Fishtown Preservation’s Joy. This time of year, when the water is warm, it’s a little slower (this is normal). It’ll pick back up in the fall. Photos by Meggen last week, while on vacation.

Vol XVIII – #123 – The Day After Barbecruise 2018

Another Barbecruise is in the history books.  Fishtown and as a matter of fact Leland, are not as busy this first Sunday in August.  Bartholomew Park was almost cleaned up this morning.

Vol XVIII – #122 – Barbecruise 2018

(Report by Jim) Another Barbecruise is in the history books. The Leland Yacht Club awarded the float “Country Club Vs. Yacht Club” the coverted Mermaid Flag award. Good friends and great food. Always fun to see everyone.

We had a lot of fun talking on a bunch of our favorite photo subjects! I created the first Leelanau Summinars website and never thought I would… Read more »

Vol XVIII – #120 – The Clouds Were Out

(Report by Jim) Another one of those days that the clouds rule the sky. Thanks to Roxane for helping plant and tend to the flowers on the bridge. Sometimes it’s good to get a different perspective.

Vol XVIII – #119 – A Perfect Fishtown Day

Today is one of those days that the clouds rule the sky.   (Jim) I took a break today and drove over to Fudgie Beach to catch a Cumulus forming over Lake Leelanau. I heard this storm produced heavy rains and lightning in Traverse City. This is all we got, shame. 😉

Vol XVIII – #118 – Sailing Day

A nice day for a sail with friends. Made it all the way to Robinsons Bay from the North end in an hour when the wind just decided to go somewhere else. Dead calm and a mile from home. Being close to sunset, we were running out of time to get back up to the North end when who… Read more »

Vol XVIII – #117 – Meggen’s Monday

This is what summer is all about: mild breeze, lee shores available for tubing or water skiing, and enough wind to putter around on a little sailboat. Enjoy, take a deep breath. Yes, Geoff and Joel took the Janice Sue out for a boat ride this weekend!
