Vol XV # 360 – Winter Storm Watch

Not a bad day at all, some sunshine for an hour.  Every once in awhile you can find a patch of snow that hasn’t melted yet, you would think that maybe winter was over… it ain’t.  We are under a winter storm warning with the threat of 6 to 10 inches by Thursday night. Below… Congratulations to Leland native son,… Read more »

Vol XV # 357 – Nothing to Wine About

A clear and cold get-up.  Beautiful blue in the sky makes up for it.  A trip down French Road brought back memories of early Leland Reports. What kind of a day was it?…  A Leelanau kind of day of course !

Vol XV # 356 – A Beautiful Day…

A beautiful day, but it didn’t start that way.  Rain at dawn and a few flakes in the air on the way to town.  They forecasted sunny and sunny it was around noon.  It looked good, but it didn’t feel good.

Vol XV # 355 – Happy St. Pats

The day began dark and very windy, as a matter of fact 31 mph windy. Met Elijah Alllen checking out Van’s Beach as we were leaving.  Of course the current wind speed was just right and the rest is obvious. The clouds returned around noon.  Anyway, today is my 83rd birthday, so Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Vol XV # 354 – After 9 AM It Was Not Nice Out

Actually it wasn’t very nice before 9.  Thunder and lightning for most of the pre dawn hours.  There was a brief moment that the sky had a opening, other than that… rain.

Vol XV # 353 – A Foggy Ides of March

It’s a foggy day here, really foggy.  Drove to town in a cloud with a car coming toward me with no headlights, I didn’t hit it.  By noon the sun tried to burn through and it turned out to be a nice day.

Vol XV # 351 – Just as Nice as Yesterday

Everyone is remarking about how nice this winter has been so far and then “you know we still have April to go and you’ll never know how much snow will fall”.   Ya never know.

Vol XV # 350 – The Nicest Day in March So Far

Another one of those days like yesterday.  A lot of visitor traffic in Fishtown and as a matter of fact all over.  The only snow around  is in plow piles.  Some concern about too early temperature rises, probability of freezing and it’s effect on cherries and grapes.

Vol XV # 349 – A Beautiful Day

At noon the Land of Delight was bathed in sunshine and thoughts of Spring.  Sadness: below the Leland Toy Co. is having it’s close out sale.
