Vol XVI – #090 – Meggen’s Monday

Today started off with a magnificent clear sky. A perfect summer day. Yesterday, I explored Fishtown from the water. The first two photos are mermaid moments. Then, last night we kicked off the summer with the first Sunday Night Sing. The third photo honors a line from a favorite tune: “…the afterglow when the sun has set, these are things I’ll never… Read more »

Vol XVI – #089 – Fishtown Art

The day certainly didn’t start out in the right direction entertaining us with thunder and rain.  The threat subsided and the artists returned to their easels.  Busy most of the morning and early afternoon working at St. Wenceslaus Chicken Dinner.  Checked out Fishtown around 2 and was impressed with the artists work.

The sailing class was small but in a week or two there will be a lot more students. A Fishtown Story:  As usual Biscuit gets a lot of attention in Fishtown, even from those who have… Read more »

Vol XVI # 069 – Meggen’s Monday

Clear skies this morning offered a delightful reprieve from the weekend’s rain and clouds: blue skies over Fishtown. Earlier this weekend, we met Lucy at Stander Marine in Leland – calmly riding along as her master goes about his work. Also it’s a great time to walk the trail at Leelanau Conservancy’s Houdek Dunes Natural Area to see the… Read more »

Vol XVI # 061 – Wine Tasting Day

The day began with beautiful blue skies and puffy white clouds and around noon, dark clouds started moving in from the southwest and a sprinkle or two happened.  Other than that it was a beautiful Sunday in May.  Fishtown was filled to capacity with weekend visitors, places to park… none.
